Important Birthday Magic Show Questions

1. How much does the birthday magic show cost?

This is one of the most common birthday magic show questions people ask me. Because I have different entertainment packages depending on the age group, I need to find out more about your birthday party so I can suggest the most amazing kids birthday magic show for your child. (My shows vary in price depending on your needs.)

2. Is the kids magic show going to scare any kids?

Definitely not! My show is fun for kids all ages. (Even parents!) Not only is my job is to create an amazing and fun experience for your kids, but also to help make your birthday party the most stress free that it can be. Moms wants to have fun too! You don't need to worry about whether the magician is going to inappropriate for kids.

3. How far do you travel?

Since I'm a Central Kentucky magician, my base market area is Lexington but I will travel as far as 3 hours.

Travel/mileage fees may apply in certain areas.

4. What if you're booked up? What do I do then?

There are many birthday party performers. Some are very good and others just don't have what it takes in working with kids.

Since I'm one of the busiest birthday party performers around, it's very possible that I could already be booked and not available for the date and time that you need.

My job is to make sure you have the very best possible entertainment for your child's party. Even if I am booked up, I have a list of performers that I would recommend and do an excellent job at your party.

5. How much space to you need?

I've done over 3000 kid's magic shows, so early on I learned to be flexible and adapt my show to most any environment. Most parents have me perform in the living room or family room. Approximately 6' by 9' is ideal; however I've performed in much smaller areas. I'm able to do this because my act is self contained. I come in with my table on wheels and my bunny, Romeo, (secretly hidden) Jand I'm all set to go. In fact it only takes me 10-12 minutes to set up.

6. Some of the invited kid's parents might show up for the show. Are they going to be bored?

Absolutely not! I have performed many times for family audiences as well as kid's parties. As long as I know ahead of time, I can adapt my show to INCLUDE the adults as well. Everyone will have great time. That's why when you contact me, I ask very specific questions about your birthday party so I can provide the most amazing and fun party for your guests. The msagic will fool the adults as well! Of course when I know the party is going to be for a certain age group, I adapt my program accordingly. What makes a four year laugh like crazy, an ten year old will think is lame.

7. What do you wear?

Great question! I vary my outfit depending on the age group and the time of the year.

Generally I'll wear a festive red/yellow Hawaiian shirt with casual khaki shorts and loafers in the summer months.  Usually, I'll wear an outfit that kids expect from a Magician, i.e. Tuxedo or colorful vest. I use all sorts of crazy magic wands in the magic show. I don't wear a  magic hat though. It's an outdated stereotype. Very few magicians these days wear one. But I may use one in the show.

When your kids see me, they'll know it's going to be a fun birthday magic show. You don't need someone showing up in an unprofessional outfit or even dressed like a clown. Nothing against clowns, but many young children are afraid of them. Maybe it's the makeup. I don't know.

8. My child's birthday is in the winter. What happens if it snows and I have to cancel the party?

Living in KY, this is definitely a concern! If due to inclement weather, you have to cancel the party, you will be allowed to reschedule the magic show without any fees or penalties.

9. If the weather is nice, can you do the magic show outside?

Yes I can do outdoor shows, but my preference is always inside. I want to do the very best possible show for you and your child. Indoor shows eliminate windy weather, insects, etc., which can really affect a show. Also having the show inside creates a more structured 'theater' environment. An outdoor will be very good. An indoor show will be AWESOME!

10. I've heard horror stories of other parents who hired entertainment that was late or even didn't show up. What assurances do I have that this won't happen to me?

I understand how you feel. I mentioned that my goal is not only to do a great show, but to also make this the easiest and most stress free birthday party that you'll ever do. You don't need to stress over whether the performer is going to be there and on time. I'm very professional in my business. Here is a summary of what happens when you hire me for your party:

After we talk to each other on the phone or by email, and we decide that my entertainment would help make your kids party absolutely fun and amazing, I would then put you on my schedule.  No deposit is required.  I accept payment on the day of the party in the form of check or cash. Tips are optional!

• The phone call or email will contain all the important info about your child's birthday party. Date, time, location, type of party package, age group, etc.  Since I may turn down several shows while holding your spot, I expect you to keep your date and time.  Sometimes you may have to cancel, This rarely happens, but if it does it's usually because the birthday child is sick and the party needs to be rescheduled.

• The day or two before the party: One last quick message, (usually phone) from me, so you can relax and know that everything is just going to be great!

• The day of the party: I arrive about 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled performance starting time to set up for your birthday party.

• I then deliver a birthday magic show for your kids that's amazingly fun for everyone and makes your child the 'STAR' of the show and makes you look like the best Mom in the world!
